Offered is a fantastic antique oil painting on academy board by listed California artist Pearl Bray Young. Finished in the California "plein aire" impressionist style, the reverse indicates this painting was shown at the San Francisco Art Association 52nd Annual Exhibition. Titled "California Sunshine", it shows Spanish colonial architecture and is most likely Mission San Juan Capistrano. Measures 18" x 14" in the original frame with the inside being 15" x 11."
Born in California on Aug. 6, 1889. Pearl was the wife of Edgar Young and a lifelong resident of Stockton. She died there on July 30, 1970.
