Vintage 1950s print by western artist Al Martin Napoletano. Napoletano was best known for his work as the illustrator for Luis Ortega’s book “CALIFORNIA HACKAMORE”. Born in San Francisco, Al Martin Napoletano lived and worked in the Bay area for most of his life and sold his first work in 1943. Specializing in cowboys and the Old West, Napoletano illustrated for magazines like Western Horseman, True West, Frontier Times, Old West, Horse Tales, Badmen, and Gold and Relics. For two years, he made the monthly strip 'Ranch Boys' in Western Horsemen. For the Bobwire Gazette, he created the strip 'Bobwire Jack'. Over the years, he illustrated strips and illustrations for Western magazines and books. Print measures approximately 11” by 14” and is printed on heavy tan card stock, ready to be framed. $65.
