Antique Santa Susanna cheek bridle bit with silver conchos

Antique Santa Susanna cheek bridle bit with silver conchos

$595.00

Just in! An outstanding example of a Santa Susanna cheek bit made circa early 1900s. This particular design originally came north from south of the border. This pattern is known for its sweeping cheekpieces that give a horse more lift through the withers and up to their poll to create more self carriage. This is a very usable bit and would be perfect for putting in use again on your nice bridle horse. Mouthpiece is slightly mullened and measures 5 1/4" wide with a port that is 21/2" tall. With loose cheeks that measure 6" long. No rust, weak spots or signs of damage anywhere. This bit has been meticulously preserved and cared for over the last 100+ years. Each cheek has two silver domed conchos with star engraving. The mouthpiece has a great handmade roller made the old fashioned way. Beautiful chased iron patterns are etched into the gracefully sweeping cheeks. Asking 595.
