Rare vintage maker marked Stan Ruano bit with low Poco spoon spade mouthpiece. Stan Ruano was a noted Southern California bit maker and horse trainer. This spade has 4 sterling scalloped conchos encircled by silver beading. Each cheek has 13 larger sterling spots in graduating sizes. The detail on this bit is beautiful. In excellent condition commensurate with its age. This is still a very usable and functional bit. This bit was made circa 1970s, putting its age around 50+ years old. This is the only Ruano but I’ve owned in 10+ years of collecting and I’ve seen a lot of bits. Asking 625 obo.
