Antique Spanish American War / Philippine Insurrection era USMC campaign hat. Most likely a private purchase hat, a close examination of period photographic evidence shows a number of different patterns the Marines used with and without vents. Classic grosgrain band is presesnt as well as the thin russet leather sweatband. Very solid condition and displays nicely.
