Antique Navajo Indian Crystal Pictorial Rug w/ Feathers ca. 1920-1930
Fantastic and well made Navajo rug vintage circa 1920-1930’s most likely from the Crystal Trading Post (J.B. Moore) at Crystal, New Mexico. Pictorial elements include 22 feathers and two centralized geometric designs with 4 geometric patterns on each corner. Edges are contrasted polychrome “T” patterns down both sides. Woven of native hand-spun wool in natural fleece colors of brown, gray, ivory/white, black and aniline dyed red. This authentic Native American textile is well suited for use on the floor as an area rug and as a wall hanging/tapestry. Edge nick (pictured) from most likely a door opening on it, and a few other small holes (pictured) that can easily be repaired or left as-is. Nice tight weave and solid overall. Perfect for your Southwest home, cabin, or bunkhouse. Measures 69” x 41.”
