Fantastic and highly detailed antiquewestern saddle watch fob from H.W. STARR Saddlery of Oakland, California. I’ve never found a saddle fob from this particular saddlery so this one is extremely rare. These were popular over 100 years ago as a promotional item for saddle, bit and spur, and harness companies. This fob features a bucking bronc and rider on the fenders with tapaderos and latigos in raised relief detail. Nice to find on the original leather strap. Measures 5” total length with the fob by itself 2.5” x 1.25”.
