Complete vintage California made western saddle set up. This is a beautiful fully tooled vintage saddle made during the 1950s era and came from an old ranch adjoining the historic Rancho Petaluma Adobe, a historic ranch house in Sonoma County, California. The Petaluma Adobe was built from adobe bricks in 1836 by order of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo. It was the largest privately owned adobe structure built in California and is the largest example of the Monterey Colonial style of architecture in the United States.
This saddle has been carefully preserved inside for the last 40 years. It is fully functional and has a seat size of approximately 15”. It includes a full set of matching silver: 6 sterling silver slotted conchos, 2 large 2.5” tall sterling heart conchos on each fender, 2 1.5” sterling silver scalloped conchos on the stirrups, and a large 2.5” sterling silver horn cap. The saddle comes complete with a mohair cinch, a rifle scabbard for a 94 Winchester. There are also a matching set of tooled leather saddle bags if you’d like to add them. The sterling silver alone is worth at least $800 and the rifle scabbard has an approximate value of $200. Each pocket of the saddlebags measures 12” by 10” and approximately 3” deep.
