Antique Hand Forged Iron California Vaquero Spurs in Spanish Style
Antique Hand Forged Iron California Vaquero Spurs in Spanish Style
Fantastic matched set of circa 1890-1910 hand forged iron western spurs with Spanish colonial influence. These are fresh to the market from San Diego vaquero county. These exhibit large pointed rowels, beveled channel accents filed near the rowel pin, ingle bobs, a very pronounced curved chap guard, and stylized shank that was typical of the spurs found in Alta California around the time of the Mexican War. This history no doubt influenced this pattern as well as ones made by Barclay and Buermann. These measure 6.5” overall with 2.75” drop shanks and 3.5” rowels. They retain the original heel chains and a great looking set of vintage basktweave straps with nickel buckles and sterling silver card suit conchos. Overall a great looking set of real Vaquero spurs that are even better in person.
