This is a rare and unique set of antique Mexican silver spurs made circa early 1900s. They are from a historical Southern California collection of bits and spurs that contained some extremely important pieces of Spanish colonial items, including a pair of spurs that were given to Jose Antonio Yorba, a Spanish soldier with the Portola party which arrived in California in 1769. An exceptional pair of spurs that are extremely finely finished. 5 point 1.5” rowels. Outside swinging heel buttons are cactus blossoms, the center of each blossom is gold. Each rowel is also inlaid with engraved silver. They have 3” wide heel openings.
This pair is in exquisite condition with a nice patina indicative of its age.
