Antique M1873 Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine .44-40 w/ Cowboy Scabbard
Fresh from a local ranch, this is a nice example of the “Gun that won the West”. Classic Model 1873 Winchester lever-action western saddle carbine that saw real use in the Old West here in the California Gold Rush country. Ser# 122693A was made in 1891 and is in caliber .44-40. Mechanics are good, and lockup is tight. Retains original saddle ring and all markings are visible. Stock shows age commensurate wear, but is very presentable. Overall gun blue has turned to typical plum brown with scattered traces of original finish remaining in recessed areas. Bore is dirty and could probably use a good cleaning. Includes the original saddle scabbard found with the gun. Overall, a very nice example of a classic ranch gun that would look great hanging over the mantle or in the bunkhouse.
