Exquisite Vintage Silver Bridle Bit by Bud & Jack Morris with silver by Gary Avila

Exquisite Vintage Silver Bridle Bit by Bud & Jack Morris with silver by Gary Avila
Enhance your bit and spur collection with this exquisite vintage silver bridle bit. This full sterling silver overlay Santa Barbara bit with sterling conchos and an outstanding barqueño mouthpiece was made by Willard (Bud) Morris and his son Jack Morris with silver by Gary Avila. Bud’s favorite bit to make was a Santa Barbara with full silver overlay. Bud and Jack established San Joaquin Manufacturing Company in Oakdale, California in 1945. This bit dates to the early 1950s when Jack Morris was teaching Gary Avila to make bits and spurs. If you look closely, you will see that "Avila" is hand scratched into the inside of the right cheek in Gary's handwriting. This is only the second MORRIS bit I’ve come across in 15 years of collecting. Mouthpiece has the perfect amount of movement and signal and measures 5 1/8" wide.
