Rare vintage maker marked California sterling silver concho bit by Frank Rocha. Frank was a noted Southern California bit maker. This gorgeous bit has 8 large sterling silver domed conchos in graduating sizes down each cheek. The slobber bar has full sterling silver overlay with domed sterling silver spots. The mouthpiece is a 5 1/8” wide frog/segundo mouthpiece. The detail on this bit is beautiful. It is in perfect unused condition despite being over 50 years old. This is a very usable and functional bit. It was made circa 1970s, putting its age around 50+ years old. This bit has been meticulously stored for the last 50 years and is from a 1970s archival collection of silver bridle bits from a California saddlery that closed 20 some years ago. Marked ROCHA.
