Antique 1930s Mexican snake spurs with double mounted silver by Casa Luna
Antique 1930s Mexican Snake Spurs made by the renowned maker Casa Luna. This famous Mexican maker has been making bits and spurs in the same shop for over 300 years. The current owners Melitón and Jose Juan Luna carry on the tradition passed down from their family over many generations and make custom-order pieces only. These museum quality spurs were made in the 1930s and possess the exquisite silver inlay work that the historic maker Casa Luna was known for. They are hand forged from a single piece of iron. Approximately 90% of the original blueing on the iron remains. These spurs have been carefully preserved for the last 90+ years and have never been on the market until now. The maker Casa Luna is profiled on page 79 of the book “Bits & Spurs in the Vaquero Tradition” by Ned and Jody Martin. Asking 2500 obo.
